What are Xtend-Life Omega 3/DHA Esters?
Omega 3/DHA Esters are a highly concentrated and purified form of natural fish oil.  We use only one fish to manufacture this oil.  It is called New Zealand Hoki and it is harvested from New Zealand's cold Southern Ocean.  Unlike other fish oils this product has a high concentration of DHA, which scientist believe to be the most beneficial component of fish oil.  Even though the ‘crude’ Hoki fish oil itself is considered to be the purest in the world, we still refine and purify it further by using a process called molecular distillation.  This removes any residue impurities and thus enables it to be considered 'pharmaceutical grade'.

What are the advantages of Xtend-Life’s product over other fish oil products?
Freshness and purity! Our oil is processed close to the port of landing, and unlike other products that have been transported around the world in tankers, and in less than ideal conditions, it is not necessary to put in additives to mask any rancidity.  Also, there is the comfort in knowing the type of fish used.  Most other products use a mixture of fish sourced from third world countries. Additionally, because we supply direct to our customers and do frequent production runs the finished product is never older than 60 – 90 days when shipped. This is quite unique in the supplement industry.

What is an 'ester' and why is your formula in an 'ester' form?
An ester is formed when an alcohol combines in reaction with an acid to form an organic compound. 

Why is an ester form needed?...bioavailability!  Most fish oils are in a triglyceride form.  The body has to convert this triglyceride compound into an ester before it can be used.  Therefore, by providing the compound in an ester form already we are providing the body with less work to do, enabling it to concentrate on actually using the benefits!

Are Omega 3/DHA Esters safe to use?
Absolutely!  Omega 3/DHA Esters are made from pure New Zealand Hoki fish and are 100% natural.  They contain no pharmaceutical ingredients. 

What is the recommended dosage
We recommend between 2 – 4 soft gels per day. In other words 1 – 2 bottles per month.

Some Companies suggest much higher dose rates.  Why don’t you?
This would be because with most products you need to take higher doses to achieve similar levels of DHA.  Many products have less than half the amounts of DHA we are able to achieve and thus require double the dosage to equate to the same amount.

Are there any discounts for bulk purchases?
Our policy is to keep our selling price as low as possible to ensure customers get maximum value for money.  However, we do offer a genuine customer loyalty program for those customers who order regularly.  This program provides product discounts and shipping subsidies.

Can you tell me more about the ingredients in Omega 3/DHA Esters?
If you refer to the Ingredients tab above you will see the amount of Omega 3 per soft gel.  The DHA and EPA are part of the Omega 3 component, providing a purified fish oil containing a wide spectrum of other fatty acids.  We add a small amount of a broad spectrum natural Vitamin E too, to act as a natural preservative when the oil is put into the soft gel.

What is the soft gel made of?
It is made out of a highly purified pharmaceutical grade bovine gelatin extract.  Unlike a hard capsule it is not practical to manufacture soft gels using a vegetable source.  Most pharmaceutical soft gels are manufactured using the same raw material.   

Are there any side effects associated with taking Omega 3/DHA Esters?
There have been no reported side effects of Xtend-Life Omega 3/DHA Esters.

Can Omega 3/DHA Esters be taken while pregnant or nursing?
Most physicians recommend this product for pregnant or nursing mothers as it may help in a positive development of the child’s brain.  However, we always recommend that customers who are pregnant or nursing consult with their physician before using any of our products.

Will Omega 3/DHA Esters interfere with other prescription medications?

It is highly unlikely.   It is rare that there is any interaction with a prescription medicine.  However, high doses may enhance blood thinning. If in doubt please consult your physician.

I have a problem with stiff joints, although I have not been diagnosed with Arthritis.  Will I notice a difference?
Yes, it is very possible you will notice quite a difference. General stiffness in joints and aching/creaking bones often benefit from a regular intake of this product.

I am taking other nutritional supplements and natural medications. Is this ok?
Yes, there is generally no problem with taking additional supplements or remedies from other suppliers.  However, if you are taking a lot of supplements be careful that you don’t overdose on some ingredients or have interactions between them.  It may be that you might be able to put together a better combination with some professional help.  If you would like some help in this area please contact us   for assistance.
